I was one of the "site" testers, and was very impressed.

we had no chance (no complaints, just the nature of the tiome and location) to test on "real" samples: two coats, applying to well primed trim, applying to muntins, applying to casings, applying to sharp corners, sandability, resistance to abrasion, tinting, etc etc.

I have full faith that most of these will preform well in REAL world situations. PLEASE put them through some REAL world tests. i have great hope these are THE next generations of waterbornes. I have hope these and this generation of resins will save the industry. BUT they need our help putting them through the mill.

If you want to talk about suggestions (I will NOT influence your judgement) give me a shout

Hey there,
I too am getting some product. I asked Gina to send the package to 2 of my customers. I will certainly add their input to the mix. They have a combined 50+/- years in the painting industry, so they have seen the many changes you all have.

I don't know to what extend KM is familiar w/ NEO, but I do know the chemists have talked "science speak" to each other.

Thx for posting the pic of what to expect.

5 was awesome ... but 2 was better! It was glossy ... and covered magic marker ... almost in one coat! #3 stank like cat piss!
I thought 1 and 2 were no good as they compared to stuff that is out there today. I didn't think any of them smelled bad. 5 had a unique smell that I didn't recognize, the other small similar to paints out there today

Although you guys are getting similar results we did, I do hope those who have not tested the coatings are not influenced by what's been said.

Here are the things I am REAL curious about. Things you home testers can test because you can test dry characteristics.

Sandability
Abrasion and impact resistance
Leveling as curing (I notice waterborne Satin Impervo continues to level for a week or two)
Ease and coverability of second coat.
Corner coverage.

we three on site were also impressed with #5. Even I, a hack who was never well practiced with latex, got a sprayed on look with number five.

We also tried some extra thick applications to encourage sagging, but experienced very little.

I was also partial to #1 - I think that one under real testing conditions, especially after 2 coats also had plenty of promise. The one thing I didn't like about the tests - is that I hate that pre-primed garbage, I don't think any paint levels well on it. I always sand that stuff and throw another coat of latex freshcoat on top of it before painting. At that point - just about any paint looks good. But yeah I would want to have sanded each test piece and slapped on another coat. But #5 was awesome. 2 through 4 kind of stunk - at least in the 'lab'. I guess painting with each one for 4 weeks I would have learned the weaknesses and strengthes and figured what technique along with which kind of brush would have given good results.
