hello everyone I just finished reading the book E-Myth revisited, which is loaded with great information. I would recommend it to anyone looking to grow as a business. Just curious if anyone has the the E-Myth contactors version?

good book...most in here have read it. Those who haven't continue to amaze us!
I've read both versions and find the contractors version less useful.

Is it available at borders and such, or do I have to order online?
Borders has it and it should be life changing for you once you read it.

"life changing"? I'm going to have to get it now.
Maybe I am being overly dramatic but it will certainly change your mentality on business. There are many great books out there on Business 101, selling and marketing. I've probably read most of them. E-myth is one that even if you implement just a few suggestions, you will see a noticeable change in profits, efficiency and enjoyment as a business owner.

Ken,

I don't think you are being over dramatic. E-Myth did change my life. It gave me a revolutionary perspective on my business. It showed me that the problems I had been experiencing were primarily because of me. And then it showed me what I could do about it. If that isn't life changing, I don't know what is.

That book changed a younger guy with a "I know it all, and will do it myself and my way" attitude, into a more enlightened guy who realized he couldn't do it all himself and that he may want to consider other options...

His name is me
I read it over the holidays because it was so highly respected by the painttalk book group. Wow. I am still processing it. I passed it on to a friend and fellow painter who is now reading it. When he gives it back I will read it again, and the probably pass it back to him...

I finally broke down and got the E-Myth Revisited book. After reading on here and other places all the positive reviews, I couldn't resist! I am only about 1/3 of the way into the book and it is an eye opener for me:eek:

Might just re-read it again after I finish it the first time! If any of you haven't read it, you might want to. It's awesome.
I just checked out E-Myth for Contractors today from the library. Hopefully it will help me, too.

And I just got done reading 'Guerrilla Marketing...for Free' in two days, because it was so good.

I heard this from Dave Ramsey, and from what I've heard, it's a great idea: The average millionaire reads at least 1 book on business/marketing/etc. (other than fiction) every 3-4 weeks.

I mean, they're not millionaires BECAUSE they read that many books, but the people who DO read a lot, gain a lot more knowledge than the average guy who's working real hard, but not learning anything new. I probably didn't explain that well, but I hope you all get the gist of it.

I didn't realize this was my first post on Painttalk until I posted it. I've posted a little bit on Contractortalk, but not on here.

I'm trying to read 1 book at least every week, take some notes out of it, then move on to the next one. There was a thread by one of the senior guys I think on here or Contractor Talk that had a huge list of books every business person should read. I plan on reading them all. But of course I'm not going to drop trying to run a business. I'm just not going to be sucked into the tv as much now.
