How are things looking in your part of the country .... ? Going to be an interesting summer here with the slow down ... The Cape has always had a good amount of retirees with some money and them homes still need repairs and paint .... We will still have a god amount of custom building for the more well to do as the Cape is a desirable place to be ...

Cape Cod that is .... Ma ..... land of the lib......

Depending on who is counting, 3 to 5 times as many left/leaving as per "normal" winter exodus
Many not expected back
Maybe more work out the islands available this spring than in....than in...a looong time

Did 10 estimates in the last two weeks, two more to do this weekend. Got one lined up but they are cutting back the number of rooms, one dependant on sale of home (paint job included in sale) and one exterior that it is just too cold to do now. All in all, not bad for February.

13 calls last 2 weeks. Did 4 jobs, have 2 scheduled, 1 job sealed, but not scheduled yet, have 4 estimates to do, and 2 folks a no go. Actually word of mouth has been working better than the ad I run in our local paper. Happy to have work, and doing what I really love to do, make improvements that enhance environments, and living spaces. Will be out walking and passing out door hangers soon.:thumbup:

Ya Slick , there is going to be a shortage on H2B workers here on the cape , as well as I hear it was allot of the Brazilians that got the sub primes and are hurting ...... Will be nice to see most of them hit the road .... The real is up to the dollar or close enough where it's not becoming worth working here and having to pay living expenses ....
