I was thinking of buying the PEP lite estimating program. Does anyone have experience using it?

I have it. It needs alot of tweeking yet. It feels like version 1.01, it doesn't give you materials. I feel it would deliver more then it did. I have a few different programs. I like to use them just to check my numbers now and then but I always seem to go back to my calculator and yellow pad. Dollar for dollar I like Paint Pro 4
Buy the Devwave software and be done with it.

It's not very expensive and is worht every dime, IMO.
I have the full blown version of PEP and like it. Also have a 2005 version of "National Paint Estimator" that I bought online for $20.00 new.
If cost is the problem, try the NPE (it also comes with a detailed manual). It takes some getting used to, but it works and both let you change the variables.
In Staples getting office supplies yesterday and saw a $29.00 program called "Paint Contractor" that looked interesting. Almost bought just to check it out.
We use Quickbooks and PEP intergrates with it so that works best for us.
Thanks for the response. I currently don't use any software but I am interested in buying a program. Anyone else use Devwave?
:jester: Never heard of PEP but quick measure is what most sub contractors are using these days and it is easy to use.

I'm a fan of PEP, (paintestimating.com).
It still needs work. but what doesn't?

Soon, we will have it set up on our main server in our office, and be able to have multiple computers in the field sync with it remotely. I can control pricing on the main server and automatically update to the field. Also, as soon as a quote/proposal is made, or a contract signed, it syncs.

Cool stuff.
