Carly and I met while working for another painter. It was a job that was going backwards fast. Carly had been asked to do a side job and asked if i wanted to help, sure I said. When we finished I said to her why are we working for so and so lets do our own thing. Carly had 2 other jobs at the time as well as painting so for the first 4 months she kept her other jobs until we got to busy and she had to give them up. It's been one hell of a ride since then.

Dave

I am like others. Needed to make ends meet and came across a painting job. 15 years later the old boss closed up shop for a career change. I hooked up with a couple other painters but it wasn't the same quality work I was used to doing. Blow and go, no sanding patches and so on.

I had a few friends in rock bands and they had a chance to go out on tour with some big name rock bands and asked me if I would be their driver. I jumped at the chance. Our first tour I was gone for 6 months then 5 months. The next tour lasted 2 years. I did this until the econemy fell out and got laid off. I did this for 5 years roughly. I needed work so I got back into painting. I did a little between touring. Shortly after I met Carly.

I also like long walks on the beach, candle light diners and.....

Oh wait wrong place.

I used to go Striped Bass fishing but sold all my gear when they said I needed a fishing license. I used to tag and release all the fish I caught. Never kept any and I caught some 40"+ monsters. Blue Fish was another one I went after. My record Blue is 42", man that was an awesome fight.

I will call myself a paint nerd. I try to learn as much as I can. Remembering in on the other hand is the hard part. I research new products, jobs we have never done I will take a week to find as much info as I can, I call our paint reps regularly plus I spend almost all my free time here.

Carly

I have been a professional commercial and residential painter for over 7 years. Growing up in Georgetown MA, Carly has grown a trusted business throughout the North Shore and Southern NH.

She has had a lifelong passion for art and attended White Pines College in Chester NH where she focused much of her studies on art and design.

Dave,

You and Carly are certainly deserving of all your efforts. If there was ever an example of perseverance at PT, you two are it!

Good luck to you!

I know I've said it before, but it bears repeating. This kind of repartee is what keeps me at PT.

It was definitely interesting. Who knows what I would be doing now if the economy didn't crash. I might still be doing that and not painting.

I used to love fishing, tag and release. When they decided to start charging for a salt water fishing license I gave it up. I never lake fished because of that (Battle a 3'+ Blue fish or Stripped Bass, in a fast moving river). I'm a cheap guy when it comes time for that kind of stuff. The license fees never go towards what they are intended for so why keep giving the state more of my money to piss away.
