My sherwin williams rep told me that they are instructed to give out free "Resilience" paint. Thats the new line that allows for painting when moisture is expected. Apparently they need to get the word out. I told her that I'd be happy to paint with it all summer for free:thumbup:

Seems like I had an offer to use some free SW paint, Cashmere. I think that it is a new high end product. I haven't tried it yet, but it may look into the offer.
Hey DW did you get any t-shirts? I like the t-shirts. Haven't asked for any signing yet.
Happy painting, Paul.

nah....cashmere has been around for a bit
not sold or marketed as 'high end', but it's a great paint IMO....I like using the medium lustre for trim

me personally? I used to charge $10 more per gallon...but to each his own
I would charge the same for free paint...nothing unethical about it either, you need to make a profit

There is no sin nor law on making a profit.
No, a profit isn't wrong... What is judged as sin is based from the action on the hearts intent. I can never judge the intent of a man's heart, only God can do that. But what I can judge is the fruit produced. It's easy to see what is sin or not by what an action produces. According to God, it's not about the profit, it's about what we do with it.... (action). Money is the root of all evil, it is not evil in and of itself. :)

Why are we bringing God into this???

I think it's great to see God brought up. It's a tough subject, but it shouldn't be IMO. I respect you for bringing God into this talk Jason. Afterall, the idea of ethics came into play, therefore having some sort of standard (ie. God, if He is your standard) comes into the picture.

I'm not going to get too deep here as most probably won't or do not want to understand.

I know I take risk of abuse (not that I have received this... I haven't) when bringing God into any conversation but that's the part where I have to lay myself aside and just tell what is on my heart. How one receives truth is only something God could explain. I just hope I can be clear in my posts...

You say there is no sin or law on making a profit. I agree. In my agreement I touched a bit on the sin part. It seemed important enough for you to bring it up so I found it important enough to expound on it for a bit. My point was to relate profit to sin and call it for what it is or for what it isn't. :)

Not trying to ruffle feathers... Just telling it how I see it. Peace.

Rich, thanks for your encouraging words. Morals, values, ethics, and the likes are all a part of how we choose to live life. Our influences are the ones that help make up or decision patterns. Some choose the wide path of the worlds influences and others the narrow path of Christ's influence. I like to share my narrow journey as others like to share their wide path. God says, ...narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Unfortunately most people will enter into a wide gate (easy and effortlessly), broad being the way that leadeth to destruction. So, I tend to elaborate a bit more than what the discussion calls for and hope that a soul willing to hear can be changed by the grace of God. :) What good is the Word if it is only kept in the church? Anyways.... I could keep going.... Good night.

Yeah I have the shirts, I don't understand the whole wet paint sign thing.
Maybe the manager was in a bad mood that day, if he was it got worse when I took the whole pack. Cashmere is a good product its been in my area for a couple of years now, a lot like Super paint but levels a lot nicer.
