Hardie Board

I am bidding on a paint job for new hardie board. The siding is factory primed as well as the trims. Some other areas are not primed. What is the best paint/stain to use on this product and what is a good primer for it.Some of the nail holes need to be filled ,what should be used for that. For general repairs( gouges) what should be used to fill these. The hardie board web site is of no help. Thanks

Duration and Superpaint are recommended for hardi. I use duration. You don't need to prime hardi, and obviously if using duration, it's self-priming anyway. I would just prime any areas that need it with whatever quality latex you want. I would use preprite, but that's me. To fill I use mh readypatch, fill flush and no need to sand. Good luck
