Perception is everything, I believe the video may have caused some offence.

Please note, I have deleted the video. I am deeply sorry for any offence the video caused.

I have a very special bond with my students. It was the last day of college and there was plenty of practical jokes before this was filmed. On the last day it is usually a day we let our hair down (of course not in my case, I can only speak metaphorically). I have often been at the other end of a joke and I would be very carful who I played a joke on. We often finish the last block with mucking around, some lunch and sometimes some dancing and music.

This video in isolation may have appeared like I was picking on my students.

The two boys in the video are very cheeky, and are very good friends of mine. I don't really see them as students. I had confidence that they would be okay with it. The Australian boy in the video gets along very well with both boys, they have a good relationship and spend a lot of time together. They call him a "Fijian" and he is taken in just like family.

Please be assured that I am a close friend of many of my students and I have a good relationship with them all. I have invested a lot of time, money and energy into helping them. I would not for one minute want to hurt their feelings. I was asked by the two boys to post it on Youtube, I did not think of how it may look.

Again, I am truly sorry for how this video may have looked.

I am sorry that political correctnesses forced you to post that apology.

I saw it for what I was, as you just described - unnecessarily, IMO.

Any one with half a brain could tell the great rapport you all have, that no doubt is a result of a mutual respect you and your students have earned.

I didn't see the video but from reading you apology for posting it, it seems as though someone complained????

DA is right, when something that was quite blatantly a practical joke is taken up by some split pea knitting do gooder, it makes a mockery of everything that is all in good fun
