Howdy everyone.. I've been painting professionally only about a year. I am a real estate broker who has inadvertently started her own painting service. I have painted and remodeled some homes on the side for a few years. Then things slowed down some and one of my colleagues had clients who needed a small paint job done on the trim and porch of a house so she asked me.. And I took it! Then more business started coming in. It's been pretty cool how it has evolved but it was never a real plan. I've enjoyed fixing up the houses on the side, so it's working out pretty good. I've found that I'd rather be painting than being on the phone constantly, endlessly negotiating, putting out fires, and juggling piles of paper all the time. I love being outside.. LOVE not having to dress up and not have a hair out of place.. Instead, wearing whatever and my hair in a cap getting dirty, listening to the radio, not having to negotiate quite so much with anyone. I love it! Weird? lol
Anyway, I've found myself reading so much here. I am adamant about doing quality work or I just shouldn't be doing it. I've had questions and you all have had answers. I look forward to more discussion. Thank you! :thumbup:
