I was using shellac primer and dropped some on the floor. Needless to say the accidental spill ate through the clear coat and I'm guessing ruined the stain? How do I fix this mistake?

Amazing that it burned through the finish. It's probably just a clear coat. May be tough to get perfect, but feather it out with Orbital sander and touch up with an oil based clear or possibly spar varnish for more colour..Hopefully client not too particular 馃槈

If shellac burned through it, its either water- based clear or shellac.

In the unlikely case it is shellac, it is very easy to fix. If wb clear, I doubt you'll be able to make it disappear. If it doesn't blend out, you'll have to screen and re-coat the floor.
