I just checked with my local builders exchange about getting info on upcoming projects up for bid. They tell me that they can't give me info unless I sign up for their service which is $950.00!?!? Is this a good investment or is someone trying to just get money?

Sound like Head Hunters to me, I would stay away from anybody asking for that kinda fee for work.
