HO wants me to cut with a brush then immediatly roll over it with a mini roller so that there is no brush marks. I normally cut with a brush then just roll and accept the small amount of brush marks that are present. Anyone ever done this HO's technique or have any other ideas?

On a wall?

I'll use a modified French Roll if specified
Rub/roll off the ends on the main wall (no blobs)
Then cut in as close as possible to the line with the roller
Done with care, you can get within about 1/4"

I wouldn't want to use/wet yet another tool

what kind of brush marks are they worried about? Drybrush or like peaks and valley brush marks? Do they mean pictureframing? Use aura or Jason says progreen works too but they do not pictureframe if that is the concern. Better yet ACCUBRUSH!!!

If it's picture framing, now is your chance to sell two coats, (cut AND roll twice) and you have both the reason and resources. We always sell two coats and that is one of the reasons.

i had that request on the one i am doing now it does look better but make sure to price in the extra time as it will slow you down
all we did was tape all the frames off and just used the roller to cut in all the low stuff
we just priced in a case of tape and the extra time for a labourer and in the end it was prolly faster
though i didnt like using tape like that

Don't know about Accubrush. I was thinking the same thing about the type of brush marks or is it pictureframing he is referring to.

I always sell the second coat, actually I insist on it since it's my reputation on the line. If one coat is being used how can you prevent the picture framing? Just seems a given to use two coats in most cases. We are talking interiors, right?

Not talking about picture framing. 2 Coats ALWAYS, but HO doesn't like the natural brush marks that come from cutting in the room. I always cut then roll first coat then cut and roll second coat. I tried cutting in with a nearly dry brush on both coats and he was still pointing out brush marks. In the end, today I cut in every line and then rolled it over with a sausage roller to leave only 1/4'' of "possible" brushmarks. I would have to say it nearly doubled the time it takes to cut the rooms in. Looks excellent but man!

I would just stop dipping out of the can that says BEHR on it I guess. Lol but I would think you could get closer to the walls with a regular roller because the wiennie rollers or sausage rollers or wizz rollers have nap on the ends for rolling corners. I guess if you could keep paint off that you would be golden though.
