Wife is the G.C of a $100,00.00 remodel I'm working on. Now everybody's gone but me and she's wondering where everything went wrong....

Why didn't it run so smoothly as on T.V? She asked......

I will never do another one like that as long as I live.

Nightmare situation . . . Most jobs, remodel or otherwise, would run a whole lot smoother if the homeowner was eliminated completely during all phases of work, then re-introduced when it's time to say, "Wow, you're amazing, how did you get all the way up there, I love it, etc," and write a check.

Does the homeowner understand "Change Order" ?

Being a GC means that they are licensed and allowed to pull permits and alter, build a structure(usually overseeing what is being done).
I have found very few "GCs" that have a good relationship, proper expectations, and understand job description and responsibility of each sub, and proper job sequencing, to eliminate wasted time and re-do.
Always in a rush to get color on substrates before they're ready.
