IP,

Where are you looking to find them?

Marketing. You need to have a public presence in front of the customers your looking for.
How else would they find you?

I have looked in the paper, online career search, went to the local employment agencies etc. in a 50 mile radius of Pensacola Florida. I'm willing to travel for work. I'm seriously thinking about relocating to Tampa Bay Florida area where the jobs seem to be booming there now. Right now I'm looking to work for someone. I have had no luck for a while now with finding my own work. Did good for a while but, things have stopped fast. Also I've posted in craigslist which is crap and have a webpage with google pages and also put up a myspace page as it seems to be good for marketing. I just did put up the pages w/ myspace and google pages. Thanks for your reply!

IP,
Might want to do some research and thought first before relocating to "cigar city" area.
Believe me, work in the trades is not booming in Tampa Bay area.lol

I'm doing alot of direct mail and phone calls to county recorded home purchasers/and refinancing, past customers, and the newer sub-divisions(3 -5yrs. old) that are due for repainting from original new construction paint.

It takes abit of thought and work to get those jobs right now. General public is feeling the squeeze across the board. Painting has not been a priority for homeowners.

On a positive note. My phones have started ringing within last 2 weeks and scheduling is going into February.

I've seen jobs available there. More so than here period. There has been nothing here at all within a 50 mile radius. I'm even talking about working with someone. There are job ads out in the Tampa Bay area for painters needed at apartments (even though that is NOT what I'd want)but, it's a job. All I want is to be able to make a paycheck. I'm from the Tampa Bay Area that's my home.... have family there. Another reason I'm relocating.

Have you been out to P'Cola Beach? Gulf shores or Gulf Breeze? Thats where I would go. Still a lot of rebuilding from Ivan. (The one before Katrina!)
Yeah, Ivan took my apartment out. Pensacola Beach has construction going on with the condos, the problem is there it is mostly (Mexican workers) and I'm not prejudice. Also, there has been a hold put on some of the up and coming neighborhoods because of "funds" from the city etc. I don't know it's all government related or city related somehow. Hell, Fred Levin owns half this town! People that own homes there and in town are having problems with their insurance companies NOT paying for rebuild or repairs. Insurance companies are **** and the people aren't willing to pay. It's been a battle this entire time. OH WELL.... there was work for a while here and good work even after Ivan but, when Katrina hit we got a lot of the Louisiana people here as well and this town has gone to CRAP!:censored:

LOL....thats why I moved! But Gulf Shores they got the money? And as far as your illegals......I'm betting Tampa dosnt pay well. I'll be in P Cola beginning of Feb to visit the relatives then head over to N.O. to start some stuff. I own www.dpap.org and hope to get a better "picture" of that area in the straight paint area, un-related to the project . I'm also running from snow and cold for about 3 months!!! Probably the real reason. Good luck to you.
