Log Home Sealing

Here's the situation. My sister is having a log home built and was asking me what the best product to protect it with is. Not being my field of expertise I figured I'd go to those who are better informed than I on this. The home is located in northeast Iowa so it gets pretty much a varity of weather extremes.
So, whatcha all think?

I like a lot of the stuff from this company. You may have to special order it but I think it's worth it.

American Building Restoration Products Inc.
DelW we specialize in log home restoration we use either Sikkens or WeatherSeal $200 - $300 per 5 gallons. Latley I have done some research a client of ours asked us to use a product called OneTime Wood Care. From what I understand is its a great product used mostly out west, the stain acctually becomes part of the wood and can't be removed. The great thing about it is that it doesnt gray, or fade nearly as fast. PM me if you have any questions.
Thank you gentlemen, that give me some direction to go, Price is not really an issue with her as she fully understands the concept of "you get what you pay for" and using the best product for the job. Kind of refreshing.

Hey DelW, where in NE Iowa does your sister live? I'm in Decorah.
