Massachusettes lead paint disposal

Just letting MA painters know that unless your stripping a bridge, you can legally dispose removed lead paint chips / scrapings in your local land fill. I learned this at a certificate program "working safe with lead paint" that I attended in order to stay on a vendor list for a state housing authority. I showed up at a land fill with a trailer full of contractor bags full a few years ago and explained to the perplexed landfill attendent my intentions. He was very sceptical until I showed him a DEP sheet that disscuses the law and a EPA sheet that stated basically the same thing. "Your all set I guess", he said. One thing you have to do is double bag the waste, twist the bag tight, fold over to form a gooseneck and duct tape shut. This is to ensure a tight bag during transport.......Hope this info was helpful..........
