Best estimating guidelines I've gotten have been from Craftsman books. They have a remodeling book and a book just for painting. It takes a little study to understand their system but it's been my guide since the get-go.

I am member of PDCA - it is expensive but the marketing advantage has been great for me. Also over the last 18 months the organization has really gotten its act together in providing useful certifications, operating procedures, and the standards are VERY helpful in resolving customer disputes. Feel free the call them -- nice folks and very helpful. Can also pay your membership on a monthly basis.

I am also going to join NAPP; it is about 1/4th the cost of PDCA and I figure the more info I get, the better.

Hope this helps

Hi Ipaint Richmond,

I am a member of the Richmond PDCA chapter, have you checked out our meetings yet?

We meet the first tuesday of every month, you are welcome to come as my guest if you haven't been invited before(I'm sure you have).

The organization has done a lot for me and I am sure the NAPP would too, although I am not a member yet.

Just hit me up with a message if you want.

Welcome to the message board, there are a lot of experienced guys here with a lot of good info. I've found it to be a very helpful community.

I forgot to mention, If you do a search in the top right of this forum for "pdca napp" there is already a thread about this topic, you might want to check there first.
