I don't trust some of these homeowners - do you really think the guy was that bad? I've worked for other contractors, where I saw the customer complain to us about getting paint on their cement - when I knew for a fact it was there from 7 yrs ago on the previous paint job. How about a website for contractors complaining about non-paying pita customers? That would probably be libel, but it's ok to diss the tradesmen.

I've had to clean up seagull poop that I "dripped on the concrete patio" when painting a customer's house trim white
Not sure how I dripped bird crap, but whatever...no sense arguing at that point

Then there was the one where we gouged the wood floor
I get the call-back...nice 3/4" deep, semi-circular gouge obviously from a 7 1/4" circ saw in the newly refinished floor

...not sure how the PAINTERS did that, but the guy swore up and down it was fine before we showed up

Just goes to show how a bad painter can give everyone a bad name.

OR, just goes to show that some guys are really good at sales, but not necessarily good at painting.

OR, it goes to show that just because you pay a painter top dollar to cover overhead, doesn't mean you'll get a top dollar job.

OR, maybe that was one pregnant customer........I usually walk on eggshells in that situation.

OR, maybe it's just outright bait and switch, regulation Z fraud.

Or, maybe I'm just full of it.

My favorite was a guy refusing to pay us cause we tracked mud across his white carpet. Everything was dropped off & I inspected it all before leaving, it was fine. To top it off... Me & my partner left our clean shoes outside his front door both days we were there.
