Coming out of lurkdom and unfortunately have a question that could spark yet another paint preference debate. (I confess, I love reading them.)

Client is picking a a very dark color. Not sure what exact color yet but I know it will be dark for good reason. (Theater room) Also, it needs to be as low sheen as possible because it's a theater room. Since people often stumble around in the darkness of a theater room, I would also like the paint to be washable and easily touched up.
I have access to:
P&L
SW
ICI
ACE
Pittsburgh Paints(although the only one store in my area doesn't answer their phone on Saturdays...not a good sign)

I'm leaning towards trying P&L's Red Seal Porcelain Flat. That is, of course if I can't talk her into a charcoal Ralph Lauren Suede coated with Dead Flat sealer from Modern Masters.

Any and all suggestions appreciated except BM. (been boycotting them for 15 years. sorry BM enthusiasts )

Welcome Lurker. I like SW's Duration and Superpaint. Both are washable and durable. I'm not familiar enough with the other paints you listed to say much. I've used some PPG, but for exteriors.

Interesting on the BM comment. What's the issue with them? (not that I've never heard it before, just curious).

Lurker, Welcome!

I was going to say try BM until i read the last sentence on your post.
You have been doing this for 15 year... i don't think you need my advice at this point. I know a lot of guys on here will be able to give you some good
suggestions.

Good luck

Dark, low sheen, tinted, paints burnish pretty good
(Unless you're getting a factory black)
I'd suggest the burnish resistant Aura, but you no likey BM
SWP's Deep Colors (sometimes called Deep Accents) kicks butt for deep colors
That would probably be my second choice

unfortunately most of the paints that require those deep dark bases are not true flats. the gym i go to has a cardio movie theater room that the keep the lights off in....they used some kind of flat black and rope lighting so u can see where ur walking...i think black would be the best choice just because it will keep the room the darkest and in my gym it looks close to a true flat....now that this post is up i will go to my gym and take a closer look at the paint

This one is easy!

Silencer 3551... No Gloss... Sound Dampening... We've got about 150 gallons in stock...

If you want to recommend something that no one else is going to compete with... offer the coating that improves the sight... AND... the sound!
