Power Wire Brush or wire brush attachment

332 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  finishesbykevyn
I have a large cinder block auto service center to paint (exterior). It has a mix of unpainted, some primed, some painted areas. Large sections where I will need to repoint as the mortar is failing. Part of my prep is to wire brush the blocks and the mortar seams. Is there a power wire brush attachment that can ease my burden that anyone would recommend?

theres plenty of wire brush cups you can attach to drills or even angle grinders. just go to a hardware store or harbor freight or something.

I guess that's it then. I was thinking there was an upgrade to those cups. Thanks.

Any better way to remove loose / failing mortar? An intense high pressure power wash?
Wire cups on a drill would take forever so use an angle grinder. You could use a turbo tip on a pressure washer if the washer has enough psi to be effective but be careful as those things can leave swirl marks that can be deep and hard to cover with paint.
