What is the standard pricing for painting interior? exterior? Is it based off square foot or time and material? Do you include paint as part of pricing or separate?

You got it, based off time, and most include materials. Time is really your production rates. Some clients want labor only price and that is fine as well.

Square foot, do you mean floor space ,or surface space to be painted??

Welcome to the sight.

Brian,
Can you specify what you mean by labor burden?
Adam
Labor burden means taxes, WC, benefits, vacation, etc.-- anything that is a part of your compensation package to employees and based on the hours worked (more or less).

I say more or less because vacation may not accrue per hour worked, but rather by the week, the month, or be awarded at a specific time. A case could be made that vacation pay should be an overhead item, since it isn't a job specific cost. Either way you do it, it should be recovered in your pricing.

For most contractors labor burden would be taxes, WC, and unemployment insurance.

Everytime i check craigs lists interior room is $99 and customer supply paint.:lol::lol:

But those guys can have it at that rate

I calculate time to complete by my hourly rate and then add materials at a markup of 28%. but it is presented to customer as this work and this paint for $xxxx.xx.
