This one is a big one being that it is in my own house.. I just painted one of the bedrooms in here a couple of months ago and the other nigh my wife was in there and she called me in and asked. "What's up with the walls in here?!" I looked at them and the paint is bubbling in a bunch of different spots.. Not just the layer that I painted but all the way do to the original plaster on the wall.. I've seen the top layer of paint come off but never all the layers like that.. Any thoughts?! Thanks! WG!

Need more info...

Actual plaster wall or joint compound on the sheet rock?
How old?
How much paint/how many layers/how thick?
Can you tell if it was primer for the first layer?
How big are the bubbles?
When was the last exorcism performed in the house?

Nope! Hose is dry as a bone!! We bought the house back in Oct and when we came to look at it I noticed Behr and Glidden paint cans in the garage and found out that the sellers repainted the whole house using the stuff.. You think maybe it was just crappy paint that failed over time and then what I put that heavier BM on it it pulled away? I know that might be a bit of a stretch but it was a thought of mine.. I also painted the LR which has a common wall with the bedroom with the problems and that wall is fine..

sorry slick, didn't see your post.. it's old "horse hair plaster" don't know how common that it is or if it's a eastcoast thang.. Anyway, the house was built in 1945 so there is a few layers of paint on there.. The rest of the house is fine.. The master BR is right above that room with no problems.. I can't see where there would be moisture.. Thanks for the help guys!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Not only is that not a stretch, I have seen that many times
I've had the guys at BM explain exactly what happens in really technical terms that were a little too deep for me, but yeah...you could physically have too much paint on there...especially with that old plaster ...and that cheap crap compounds the problem
That stuff (old plaster) has it's limits...and it's not nearly as much as you might think
