Im just starting my own painting business and ive been asked to do my first quote. Working out the materials is easy enough based on Square footage, but im struggling with the labor costs.

Ive done alot of research and for cut and roll ive decided about 200 square foot per hour is a good estimate.

But as weatherboards arent cut and roll im struggling to come up with a Labor
Square Foot per manhour estimate.

Anyone have a rough estimate i can go by?

Thanks alot

Are the customers requiring a sq ft price?

I'd just figure out how many hours it would take to do the job. Don't worry about square footage.

A 10x10ft wall on a steep hill with rocks would take longer than a 10x100 ft wall on flat ground.
