Whats are some of your procedures of refinishing wood decks?

I have done this some in the past working for the other guy, did the powerwashing and came back in a few days to finish the deck

my question is, what chemicals do you put on the decks before you powerwash it to strip off old finish/stain???

How many dry days do you wait on avg untill you aply the new deck stain ?

what products do you like to use? Most pros I know advise not to use Tompsons, but your advice would be helpful, thanks

Use the Cabots Problem Solver stuff
Cleaner, brightener
Jomax for tough mold mildew
Easy to use, instructions right on the stuff...works
Use a moisture meter
Can't miss

power-wash and clean with tsp/bleach. Or strip with maxistrip and power-wash off. I like the big woosters that attach to roller poles and I garden spray the semi-trans on and back brush with pole and brush. Saves the back!

I wait at least 2 good dry days and or use a moisture meter.

I use cabots timber oil, decking stain, and clear solutions. No matter what you use here in N. MI all you get is 1-2 years. I always recommend maintenance coats every year with a light cleaning. I can do a deck 20x20 in a 2-3 hrs cleaning included using this method. Keeps decks nice, keeps cost low, and keeps consistent business.
