I have a friend who is a stay at home dad, and is interested in selling paint jobs for me. He would be generating leads, but I still have to estimate and close. I am trying to come up with a commission percentage that would be fair for both parties. I am still working in my business, and at times find it difficult to gererate work while working. I am not depending on this person to get us work, but the new leads would be appreciated. Thanks

We give 4% for a lead brought in from a non-employee. We expect our salesmen to get leads and referrals. 10% is paid to our salesmen for sold jobs, from $0 to $60k in a month, if they go from $60k to $100k in a month they get 15%. If they go over $100k in a month, they get 15% plus we add 5% to the first $60k they sold. If he is going to bring in leads and you sell them, I think that is a no brainer. Pay him 4% of the total.
