May want to look at the 1 and 2 component urethanes, they also are available in waterborne. Most major manufacturers have then available, may be classified as "industrial".

I'd suggest the gloss
But I suppose you could use the eggshell
That's kinda the point of it, an eggshell trim paint
*Though I have heard of the eggshel used for trim, I have never heard of anyone using it for tables or shelves where sticking or 'blocking' could be a problem, so I can't even say "I've heard" it will/won't stick

The 305 Eggshell is ideal for furniture. It has a hard, durable finish, however like all alkyds, it will yellow. The Dulamell Eggshell has mediocre hide, but the spray and brush results are lacquer like. Slow dry so when doing furniture make sure you do not have a dusty environment, or add a little aecetone to kick off the drying to help eliminate dust settling in the film. We use to scrape off any dust particles with a razor scraper to create a very smooth automobile like like feel. You can also polish it with vegtable oil and rotten stone, which gives you hand rubbed results quickly.
