Vinyl Sealer under Waterborne enamel?

Short question:
Anyone have experience or opinions on using SW precat vinyl sealer on new poplar or maple as a sealing coat before SW Emerald Urethane enamel? I really can't figure out if this is a great idea or a really dumb idea.

Longer explanation if you care:
This is for a very quick little stair railing project, where I'm pre-finishing the newel and handrail.

Why would I want to use vinyl sealer for this?
1. because I have half a gallon of it that's just begging to be used before it expires.
2. I like how fast it dries, how hard it cures, and how well it sands. Big time-saver for this quick turn project.
3. I might normally use BIN, but the top coat is black, so I'd like to avoid a white undercoat.

Why would I use Waterborne enamel instead of lacquer then? This house has young kids, so:
1. Touchup-ability. I have found emerald urethane to touch up really well with a soft brush and a little extender. This will come in handy for me to touch up after I install the railing and when the homeowner needs to touch it up in the future.
2. Odor/VOC. What little odor is emitted from emerald smells great.
3. I have half a gallon of Tricorn Black already.

I'm sure it would be fine, but Why not just ask your SW rep?
I don't have a dedicated rep, but the team at my local SW Commercial location act my reps. Their advice was to stick with water based primer, but the advice wasn't based on experience with this combo. They just stuck to the general mantra of keeping within the lines. They're a knowledgeable bunch, but they weren't aware of anyone trying this yet.

I just went with BIN. I'll probably experiment with this combo at some point. I'll report back with what I find.

So I tried this on some scrap. I'm happy with the results. No bubbling or other weirdness to be seen. I did a cross hatch adhesion test and had no pull up. To be fair, there was about a week between the vinyl sealer and the emerald urethane, so I didn't get to test it with a quick turnaround time.

Below is a pic. Left side is 1 coat of black, Right side is 2 coats.

More details for anyone curious:
Poplar with a quick 150 grit sanding
2 coats of vinyl sealer, about 30 mins apart, sanded with 220 between coats
1-2 coats of Satin Emerald urethane enamel in tricorn black, airless with FFLP 210 tip.
A few dust specs cuz I just sprayed this outside and let it dry in a dusty shop.
