Can someone tell me if the remaining grey material on the walls is leftover glue from when I tore the wallpaper off? Best way/practices to remove the glue if so? Repainting the walls after. Thanks Will pics attached

This looks like it needs to have a 1/4" sheet of drywall over the top. You won't be able to do a quick fix on these walls. I wouldn't bother trying to remove the wallpaper.

recommendation: call a pro (drywall) for this one.
