So I had to redo some caulking after the newly remodeled house settled/shrunk. So this was where the beams and crown meet the ceiling/wall.I went with clear because the walls had a glaze coat and the beams were stained dark and clear coated. The reason I went this route was that both the glazed walls and beams had a sheen and so if the caulking was kept small it would be virtually invisible and you would only have to touch up the cracks.
So the contactor came back the next day and asked when I was going to start and I told him I was done. He thought I was wrong in doing it this way, so I am reaching out to ask my peops as to how they would have handled it. Take in the fact that the glaze is fairly distressed with some darkness in the corners (dark glaze over light paint). Bottom line as far as I am concerned is that either way it will need touch up and that the small crack would be easier to blend.

I probably would have done the same as you but if the GC wants it a certain way then do it his way. If it looks like sheet then he can pay you to fix " his way " of doing it.
