I ask for 1/3 up front to hold a date for customers. Curious as to what other companies do when the customer decides to cancel after that.

I ask for 1/3 up front to hold a date for customers. Curious as to what other companies do when the customer decides to cancel after that.
If they cancel within 3 days they get their mnoey back. After that, we keep 10% of the contract price. In 8 years of taking deposits, it's only happened twice.
