/\ off topic but I love your avatar :D

I go to where people are talking about what I want to hear about. Whether it is online, or I have friends of different ages I call and speak with about stuff with. Different business backgrounds, different locations of the country. Great to know people from all over. Are you talking about online stops?

"information" is pretty big topic. If you mean painting products, reviews etc, Here is about as good as it gets for me. I ask the paint store guys, but get it backed up here.

For business strategies, I talk to and listen to people in other types of service businesses (locally) to see what systems and approaches are working for them. There is a janitorial service, a window cleaning service and a lawn care service in my area that I have learned alot from. Whether it be marketing, operations or whatever. Finding ways to convert non typical contractor approaches into a contracting business is a good method. As Cliff said in a post yesterday, its more about service than about painting, and there is alot that goes into delivering a convenient, low impact service that is priced appropriately.

Thanks guys! Harry, good point, I wish I could edit the poll to include multiple choice!

Scott, good point, do you have type of organized meetings or is just casual conversations?

My answer to the poll would be to click each choice.
I love to learn and found that I can learn from everyone, from the new guy to the seasoned pro.
I agree with this cat.
I get information from a variety of ways. Mostly through networking and just talking shop with others in the construction industry. I have never been afraid to ask questions, I've always believed that the only thing in my way of success was information. Simply asking a question can get you that information and what you do with it can contribute to your success. People in general want to help, you'd be surprise who is willing to release good information. A lot of times you don't even realize what was just handed to you, goes right over the head, and that's a shame.

Scott and I just finished up with copyright and trademark rights for the VerNeps Magic Paint Can®. It's a snazzy little item marketed for painting contractors that have legal, employee, product and/or procedure questions. Like the magic 8-Ball you shake the can and ask it a question. When you lift the lid a hologram of either myself or Scott pops out (depending on our areas of expertise) to give you the answer to the question asked.

We are launching on Amazon July 1st for $49.95.

Everything leading up to the launch has just been a ton of fun! Neps forgot to mention, if you order two cans, you get 10% off and one of 6 painttalk member bobbleheads. Collect all 6 and you get a t shirt!

Groupon called me today about running a deal for $2.99 per can. We have a meeting on monday morning about it. While the idea of losing $32.00 per can isnt too appealing just the thought of being able to sell to thousands makes me very excited. I hope Scott in on board.

Hey man, I'm all about volume and low margin. There's magic in those cans. Basco still onboard with pitching it to the tech heavy NASDAQ? That's going to put it over the top.
