I haven't had the same experiance as you, most of them have been good to work for. After 25 years I can only think of two who fit the description you gave. Sometimes they can be wary of paint contractors if they have been burned before, but once they see we mean to do the job in a professional way we develop a good relationship.

Let's get back to the topic, which is not about race, breed or sexual preferences. Only ignorant people think about this crap, since they have not enough brain cells to think of something that takes more thought.

I have found building your relationship with a super starts from the from biding process. I have many experiences with supers the good the bad and the ugly. I have had supers bring me in from one company to another. Just because I spent time and built a solid relationship. You have to remember that the super's now are your future GC. If you come with your boxing gloves on you'll get hit, pounded and squashed if you don't know how to play their game. Fighting with them, being a jerk back and standing up for your rights just makes things worse and you end up looking just as bad as the super looks.
