Wind break ideas????

5515 Views 33 Replies 11 Participants Last post by  Wing 54
I've finally been able to get started outside because it's warm enough. Now the only problem is the wind. I prefer to work alone so I use a spray shield in the right hand and spray gun in left hand.

Not able to start that early in the morning because of temps so end up fighting the wind. I know I've read some simple wind break ideas here before but darned if I can't find them.

What do all you seasoned veterans do? (besides get out of the wind).

Thanks in advance.

for wind breaking issues...
Good one V
oh and since you are using two hands why not drop the shield and gun, and pick up 2 brushes? same speed less float. just sayin
Glad I could provide you guys with some humor this evening.

You could use a Timhag to stand the the corner of the house to break the wind... It will only work 4 feet high but will block for about 35 feet. Fat blocks wind nicely!

Seriously ... find something else to do until the wind dies down or brush it. Your probably wasting 70% of your paint in the air.
maybe it would be best to use the fart to your advantage, instead of working around it, this guy did

You are consistent my brother NEPS.
I have used the 3m masking film on scaffolding. cept it kind of made a sail and I had to drive my truck on the lawn, take my rope off my ladder, and tie the scaffolding to the truck so it would stop blowing over : )
turn your pressure down

use an assortment of sheilds

keep sheilds rinsed off and dry with terrycloth towel, or super chamois

when its too windy dont spray

have your spray bitch leapfrog your ladders, position your drops, sheilds, and rinse and dry sheilds,,,,,,,you should never wait for anything,,,,,he should anticipate your needs
Now verm. the man asked a serious qeustion and look what you started,,,,another fun thread,,,,but when the dogs come a barkin,, youll be the first one to try and feed them! and make it all betta, but,, I would just paint where theres a bunch a trees! duh.

Well its a good thing you havent lost your sense of humor, Crow. Not quite following the dog analogy though.

Don't really have a dog in this race, but I think that was really pushing the envelope for this forum.

Maybe I do have a dog in this. No big deal to me, but I never expected to see something like that here, and just as I thought, it did not stay long.

Well, it was not there a minute ago on my screen. Lets say I am surprised it is not removed.
I am totally not following the dog analogy here. :help:
