I recently posted about selling while you sleep. This is an update.

We were originally hired to paint 2 gates for a community of 30 homes. The job was less than $1200. We then marketed directly to the home owners, offering them services on their individual homes. I set up a web page so they could order and pay via PayPal.

We started the job yesterday. To date we have another $3200 of work, more than half of which is paid in full.

We utilized a number of methods for doing this. All of it was word of mouth. The words were mine. The mouth was mine. I marketed directly to the home owners.

Word of mouth is a great way to market.

Hey Brian
How did you set up the web page for Paypal. Did you use your existing website, or did you make another site just for this job?
I have a company that focuses on multi-family properties. I used that web site, and set up a page specific to the property.

I also have a PayPal account for that company. We use Virtual Terminal for most cc payments, but can also accept web based payments. That in short, is how I did it.
