I realized I never answered the question. In my line of work (wallcoverings), my most difficult clients would be the artists who paint or create the murals we install. They just don't realize the intricacies of wallcovering; what you can and can't do on a particular substrate.

Also the uber-rich who want to put a highly unsuitable wallcovering in the wrong place IE hang a pulp in a teen's bathroom.

Without sounding racist....I'd have to say that Greeks are the worst.I'd almost say I wont work for them anymore.
I would hate to agree with you since that's where I was born.
But you are mostly right. The cultural thing does not allow them to be good customers. They want something for nothing.

Gotta agree with timhag. Just had a bid on entire motel that they were trying to get me to match of $45 per room. They wanted to buy the paint and my price was 1 or 2 coats. Rediculous other prices for hallways and common areas.

NOT

My worst clients are those guys from India. And all tree of them happen to be the owner of the gas stations. :arabia: :arabia: :censored:
I have had the opposite feeling, i found them to be very polite, and easy to deal with.

For me it was higher ranked military people. This was quite a few years ago, we had a builder that was building quite a few homes for majors, and higher ups.

My worst customers are those who forget our discussions and what is in the contract. That is not limited to any profession, social class, or nationality.

I really dislike generalities, because while they may be true in general, they do not tell me anything about a particular individual. And my customers are individuals, not a profession, social class, or nationality.

Snobbish, rich clients who think we are their slaves.

The same ones who think we should work for peanuts although they work for steaks!
I have had the oppisite expirence with the wealthy. We painted a VERY small cottage for a VERY wealthy client that wanted the best work possible. We billed him monthly for the work and expected some serious problems for what it was costing him. Long story short he paid the bill no questions asked and mailed the 2 lead painters on the job a Christmas card with $500 cash stuffed inside!!
