Is pearl suppose to be more or less sheen than satin? Regal comes in pearl. I think Scuff X will soon too.

I've used Regal pearl. Seems to have less sheen than satin. It's really close tho.

BM pearl is a bit less than what BM calls 'satin'. ScuffX already comes Satin and soon semigloss.

 

This might be the one time I've seen Canada able to get a product that isn't available in the US. Yes, we have Ben Pearl and I've used it many times. The entire Ben line is fine for those more budget minded jobs.

 

Whats the difference between pearl and eggshell?

 

I use pearl finish quite a bit. The best way I can describe it is if you put it next to eggshell, then the eggshell looks flat. It has the tiniest bit o’ shine.

 

It's probably in Canada because of a competitive issue. Do the major Canadian paint companies sell a lot in that sheen?

 

SICO, Rona, and Para paints all show a midline pearl in their lineup. The only US brand that i know of with a "pearl" is the PPG Manor Hall line. Maybe that is why they got it first.
