Are you using extender for scuff X? How much? What product?
Spray? Brush and roll?

yes for FPE hollandlac final sand 1200 is good. maybe with advance 320 is good as it tends to telegraph sanding. urethane paints I think 220 is sufficient.I use the maroon 360 grit between top coats. But ya, 180 on the initial scratch. I know car shops don't use anything less than 320 and go up to like 1200 or something. That's a different ball game though.
I use Bin in the shop and onsite shot through hvlp. Not much overspray. It’s flammable, I’ve never applied it in a risky area (that I’m aware of) and I open windows. It definitely dissipates quickly and I sand in 30-40 minutes after application. Super easy sanding! Thanks for the detailed process Warner. Are you spraying the boxes with bin onsite for the re-paints as well? I've heard it's flammable and had a strong smell but dissipates quickly. I don't actually use bin much as I don't have a dedicated rig for it. But I hear great things about it.
I use 220 when I sand down old pre-painted cabinets. Maybe I’ll start using it on the new pieces - sanding will go quicker.320? We basically only use 150 and 220 grits. Don't think I could find a single sheet of 320 in the entire shop
Do you find that the extender helps scuffx to level significantly better when rolled as well? Or not worth it in colder climates. In your experience, what would you say is the incremental dry time for a coat with the 8oz/gal recommendation?I had great luck with with extender and scuffx. Damn near flowed like oil. I just put a capful or two in my cut pot. Doesnt take much at all. brushing works best if its not a big panel.
yeah. Ive cut and rolled doors with it, and it turned out good. It looks better layed off with a brush if its done right. They were old doors though, FWIW. As far as dry time.. IDK. Just like any other latex paint really. Its not a hybrid, or urethane modified or anything. It applies just like a standard latex. Thats why I like it.Do you find that the extender helps scuffx to level significantly better when rolled as well? Or not worth it in colder climates.
