vinyl siding concerns wouldnt apply to aluminum. No clue about the tips though.

 

I don’t know about the tips but one big piece of advice I can give you is to add flood emulsa bond to the first coat of paint. It’s almost impossible to completely remove all the chalk from the siding and emulsa bond is a paint additive meant to help it bond to chalky surfaces which it does surprisingly well.

I have used a lot of emulsa-bond over the years and it works very well but do not skimp on the amount you add to the paint, one quart per gallon and not less or you will have poor results.

This guy puts those tips and others through their paces using the new Quickshot sprayer. I've seen some questions here about it so I thought I'd post it. In summary, it appears to be a pretty slick machine for small job, cabinets, doors, etc. but it does have it's limitations although those limits seems to be on the extreme ends of tips sizes & material viscosity.
For me, I wish I could afford something like that but it's a lot of $$ for something what probably won't have the durability of a 440 or 390. You're paying for convenience.

 

Regardless of what tips you buy or use, tip size and pressure will effect bounceback the most. Overspray is when you spray a corner and it contact an opposing surface. Bounceback is the common term for mist that bounces off the surface as you spray. Spraying smaller sections will help keep from overextending off the surface causing spray to go everywhere.

 

I never considered the paint mist could be 2 different causes. Makes sense. Thanks.
