Looking at a job that has six commercial exterior steel doors. The exterior surfaces oil base paint, quite a bit of oxidation, some chipping. Interior surfaces, much better condition, some scratches/chipping. Will be painting close to the same color, orangy/red brick if that makes sense. Haven't had much experience with doors like this. Besides cleaning with TSP to get rid of oxidation, not sure what direction to go. Talking to my SW people, getting different ideas but some of the products they mention," Pro Ind. DTM, Sher Kem metal finish enamel, Pro Ind. HPA," they don't have and don't know when they'll see any. Thanks Covid! Not much of a oil person, but it might be easier to brush and roll. Not looking to do any spraying, they are at a church. If I go with anything WB, I'd probably need to prime with an oil base primer. Just looking for any ideas for something that would easy to brush and roll, smooth finish and be very durable. Quick cure time would be important also. I say SW, because Im limited to paint sources, they are the closes to me. I have access to DV, BM and PPG, just further away and not as familiar with their products.
