An article ran in my local paper with the wow-1day painting van splashed in a huge pic and a guy in a pretty blue uniform holding a roller. The article was about how this new company had to get in a painting crew from Vancouver to Calgary to get exteriors done because they couldn't find the experienced painters to do the work.
When I read that I made a face as its the first time I had heard of this company and my wonder was, how does this new company (franchised here since march), had a big story in the Calgary Herald about labour shortage?
Ok, first my question was, who are these guys to be an authority on shortage of painters? I have had this problem for years, just as other companies, to find the right people that want to stick around, but its hardly news.
Anyway, I am sure it's some PR promotion cooked up by a 'franchise team', but what do you guys really think about this company?
I don't really know who they are but the 1day painting concept seems like a gimmick that's going to degrade the industry. Their claims seem pretty unrealistic from a pro painters point of view.
Thoughts? Are these junk haulers a problem for the traditional painter?
